EIS and Multifactor Testing
Multifactor tests are the most complex type of projects to design and conduct. The name of this type of test is self-explanatory – the project needs to address and evaluate more than one stress factor within one project. ELTEK Labs works closely with our customers to design and develop various multifactor test projects.
ELTEK Labs offers our customers the ability to combine several of our test equipment and to merge test procedures to develop a wide variety of projects, including:
Thermal stress combined with voltage application at elevated temperatures. Our expanded capacity is set up to apply up to 25kV at temperatures up to 250C. Test methods such as:
- IEC 60034: Rotating electrical machines
- Part 18-33: Functional evaluation of insulation systems – Test procedures for form-wound windings – Multifactor evaluation by endurance under simultaneous thermal and electrical stresses
- IEEE 1043: Recommended Practice for Voltage-Endurance Testing of Form-Wound Bars and Coils
Thermal stress with non-sinusoidal voltage applications following such test methods as:
- IEC 60034: Rotating electrical machines
- Part 18-41: Qualification and type tests for Type I electrical insulation systems used in rotating electrical machines fed from voltage converters
Thermal stress with mechanical stress following test methods such as:
- IEC 60034: Rotating electrical machines
- Part 18-34: Functional evaluation of insulation systems – Test procedures for form-wound windings – Evaluation of thermomechanical endurance of insulation systems
Thermal stress combined with different environments at elevated temperatures. Our capabilities offer customers combined sealed chambers to allow for exposures to oils, water vapor, acidic or basic solutions, refrigerants, and a wide range of other simulated environments at ambient or elevated temperatures.
ELTEK Labs works with our clients to design and conduct a wide range of multifactor projects. These are set up in our Special Projects Laboratory, which is constructed to allow for flexibility in project set-up and operations. This laboratory is separated from projects which follow routine test procedures.
- Laboratory ovens for thermal aging up to 250C
- Stainless and glass vessels for controlled environments
- Voltages up to 25kVAC
- Evaluation of customer supplied power supplies
